Earby Hostel is usually a traditional hostel but we can offer private hire for families and groups. Across 4 bedrooms there are 21 bunk beds, so perfect for a family or group of friends.
In the hostel you’ll find…
- 4 bedrooms so the grown-ups and children can sleep separately, or you can have a room each!
- A breakfast room with 2 tables.
- A larger dining room that can fit 21

Matt is your host and is on call to help you book activities or attraction tickets and source take-aways or places to eat out. Whatever you need we’re sure he can help!
We’ve filled the hostel with board games which get swapped and sanitised between each booking. There are also games in the wildlife garden, picnic tables and the waterfalls are just metres away so you can dip your toes on a hot day!

Waterfall Cottage is a beautiful 2 bedroom self-catering cottage with full access to the private wildlife garden. We’ve designed Waterfall Cottage to be family-friendly, so it makes the perfect escape for a short family break.

There’s so much to do for families around Earby Hostel and Waterfall Cottage.
There’s Thornton Country Park just over the hill, a farm park with plenty of animals to see, quad bike riding, pony rides, special seasonal events, a café, playground and a fun indoor play area.
If you’re looking for something a bit more adventurous then take a short trip to Skipton where you can try your hand at tree climbing with Raven Tree Top Adventure. They’re right next to the swimming pool that has giant inflatables during the weekend.
Skipton is also home to one of the best-preserved medieval castles in the country, always worth a visit.
Bolton Abbey is a great day out, with riverside walks, the Welly Walk with different activities and obstacles, a family bike area for little ones to practice, a lovely cafe at The Cavendish Pavilion, tea rooms at Strid Wood and plenty of swimming to be had in warmer months at The Priory.
Over the border you can spend a day in Clitheroe, with a trip to the castle, a play in the playground and then a bite to eat at Holmes Mill.
If you’re a family who loves the outdoors, take a walk along the Pennine Way or cycle some of the Tour De Yorkshire route.

Raven tree top adventure
Raven Tree Top Adventure is a high ropes adventure course aimed at both adults and children over 7 years old (Please note this is an approximate age only and is dependent on the child and adult supervising). Use zip lines, suspended bridges, balance beams, high wires and lots of other features to complete the exhilarating woodland tour.
HESKETH FARM PARK

One of the region’s most popular visitor attractions. This working farm has diversified to become an open farm with a huge amount of interactive animal sessions such as guinea pig brushing, lamb and calf feeding, egg collecting and donkey brushing. There’s loads for kids to do inside and out, and you can take your own picnic!

Billy Bob’s is an American style diner with a great men; think fluffy pancakes, waffles, hot dogs and BBQ. The ice cream parlour has tons of flavours and there’s a large outdoor play area and play barns which are covered. If you’re an adults-only group then enjoy your meal in the 13+ restaurant.

Family Swimming slots are available everyday with the large pool limited to 30 or so people. Perfect for families with little ones wanting to splash around. You can take your own woggles and floaties.
Bolton Abbey Estate
Bolton Abbey Estate offers a full day out for families, with child and pushchair friendly walks, a river with a beach to play on, cafes and shops in the village and lots of ice cream vans dotted around!
Each season Bolton Abbey Estate creates a themes walk from the Cavendish Pavillion to Strid Wood – nursery rhymes, Halloween, Easter etc.
