Earby Hostel Open Day

On Easter Sunday we hosted an Open Day to celebrate the re-opening of the hostel. We invited members of the local community to come and take a look around, and meet some special guests.

Had a lovely visit to the hostel on Sunday. My Granddaughter enjoyed the egg hunt and we enjoyed the spread! The hostel looked great. Well done hope itโ€™s a great success.” – Judith Davison

Special Guests

Earby Hostel has an interesting history, closely linked to the life of Katharine Bruce Glasier. We invited Katharine’s Great Grandaughters to the Open Day, and they were excited to see the plaque dedicated to their late Great Grandmother, detailing her history, activism and life at the hostel.

Colin Holt, son of the first warden of Earby Hostel when it reopened in the mid 1900s also joined us. Colin lived in the hostel during his early life.

Easter Egg Hunt

We got the kids interested in the open day by hosting an Easter Egg hunt in the wild gardens at the back of the hostel.

Having A Nosey

We opened all of the rooms for the Open Day so that our visitors could have a look around, see the work that has been done during the renovations, and hopefully recommend us to their friends and family who might want a place to stay when they visit the area.

Thank you to everyone who came to see us!
